Why do we get diarrhea?
Diarrhea can be caused by several factors, including viral or bacterial infections, food poisoning, medication side effects, intestinal disorders (such as irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease), and certain dietary habits. Infections are among the most common causes of acute diarrhea. The body’s response to an infection can involve increased fluid secretion into the intestines, leading to loose and watery stools. However, it’s important to note that diarrhea can have different causes, and a healthcare professional should be consulted for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
